Why pregnancy yoga?

Pregnancy yoga is designed to support you through your pregnancy, so that you can feel strong in your body, calm in your mind, and prepared for childbirth.

Exercises focus on helping you to adapt to your changing body, prepare you for childbirth, and help you to find a safe, comfortable space to relax.

Why pregnancy yoga means a lot to me

I found the pregnancy pretty terrifying. I had bad morning sickness in the first trimester and quit my job due to how unsupportive it was there.

The sickness prevented me from going on runs, which had been really important for my mental health and physical wellbeing, so I became quite anxious and low. I really lost confidence in my body and felt very out of control with the changes it was going through.

Yoga was my salvation. It gave me exercise which I could do right up to the end of my pregnancy, which kept me fit and mobile throughout.

I regained the confidence in my body for the pregnancy and the birth, I felt less anxious and far more ready to take on the challenges which awaited.

I also found a tribe of other women like me, and we supported each other through our pregnancies, labour, and postnatally.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of pregnancy yoga?

Pregnancy yoga can improve strength, posture, and circulation. It can also reduce stress, anxiety, and pregnancy-related discomforts, enhance sleep, and prepare the body for labour and delivery. We also have a WhatsApp group so that you can start making new mum friends.

What should I wear?

Pregnancy yoga is a gentle bodyweight exercise, so as long as your clothes are comfortable, your good to go! I recommend leggings (any stretchy leggings will do) and a soft bra under a comfortable t-shirt or vest.

When can I join?

Pregnancy yoga is recommended from 2nd trimester onwards. This is largely due to the fact that classes are tailored around your growing bump and changing body. If you want to come in the 1st trimester, please reach out and we can figure out what is best for you in your situation.

I've never done yoga before. Is this for me?

100%! Pregnancy yoga is slow paced and the exercises are simple yet effective. I tailor my classes for the people in the room and make sure that no one is left behind!

I'm already in my 3rd trimester, is it too late for me to start?

Pregnancy yoga is designed to be accessible to you, whenever you are in your pregnancy. Some of my mums-to-be start in the 3rd trimester and continue up until their birth. They find that the exercises ease the aches of those last few weeks and helps to prepare them for birth.
